CGLC realizes that current economic times make it all the more difficult for students to afford a quality education. As a result, we are offering a limited introductory tuition rate of only $18,000 a year. Compared to similar schools, such as the Art Institute of Charlotte with a tuition rate of $28,000 and a high student to teacher ratio of 27:1, we anticipate our school to have a low ratio of only 10:1.
In addition, we have finalized a financial assistance program. We are asking for a down payment of $5,000. The remaining balance of $13,000 can be financed over 5 years at an interest rate of only 8%, which results in a monthly payment of only $263.
Please contact us and we can work out a personalized finance plan that will work within your means.

Great Turnout at the Animation Meetup CGLC Social on 1/20
The joint meetup on Tuesday 1/20 between the Charlotte Animation and Game Development Group at CGLC drew a solid turnout of about 40 people.
The event was a good networking opportunity for local animators, graphic designers and game development enthusiasts. Participants enjoyed finger foods, drinks and a brief teaching moment by Tom Wright on rigging. Dieter Wagner presented a first look at a revised demo reel, which was both entertaining and impressive. Chase Gordon demonstrated some of his recent work using Blender.
The Game Development Meetup showcased some very innovative work in music and game concepts. Look for regular CGLC Social Meetups in the future through our meetup link: http://www.meetup.com/Animation-Meetup/

CGLC Location Finalized

The Computer Graphics Learning Center has secured a location in the heart of Charlotte, NC. The building is in Third Ward's sought after warehouse district in a completely rebuilt warehouse loft space, with 20' ceilings and concrete floors. Featuring an open floor plan, the space has an industrial, creative studio feel.
The 3rd Ward Warehouse District is a neighborhood of old warehouses and newly planned buildings located in Uptown Charlotte. The district lies within the area bounded by Bank of America Stadium to the East, by I-277 to the West, by Fifth Street to the North, and by Morehead Street to the South.
3WWD is located in the third of Center City's four wards. This includes Bank of America Stadium, home to the Carolina Panthers and Gateway Village which is now home to Johnson and Wales University. The 3rd Ward Warehouse District was Charlotte's first, true "Design District."

GEEK FEST 2008 - Great Interest and Enthusiasm from local students
The GEEK FEST was a great success. Tom Wright , CGLC director, spoke to an audience of over 100 students about the animation industry. Many students visited the Computer Graphics Learning Center booth. They were excited about a new CG animation school in Charlotte and were anxious to learn more . We had 3 pages of completed mailing list requests! There is definitely a thirst for high-end computer graphics training in Charlotte. Red Storm Entertainment's gaming lab had 2 sessions to a packed house with standing room only.
